Experience the evening wildlife on one of Perthshire’s loveliest rivers in spring or summer (mid-April to early October). This is the best time to easily see the wild-living beaver family of the River Ericht and makes an excellent gift (so we are told!).
We meet you in central Blairgowrie & transport you to the River Ericht. We have a short walk to the river during which you will find out about the history of beavers in Scotland, their life story, how they re-appeared in Perthshire and why they are so important to the ecology of our rivers. We will do a bit of riverside foraging too! Although we can never guarantee wildlife sightings, we have had a 100% success rate of seeing the beavers on this trip in 2018 and 2017, as well as regular sightings of kingfishers and occasional otter appearances!
The safari is suitable for up to four people – we have to keep numbers low so we don’t disturb the beavers – and will last approx two and a half hours. Date to be arranged at your convenience by contacting Daniele on firstname.lastname@example.org and if purchased as a gift, is valid for one year from date of purchase.
One of our reviewers on TripAdvisor said ‘This is a great treat of a trip. Ourselves and our two children spent a wonderful evening with Daniele last week, sitting on cushions as evening fell watching 6 wonderfully engaging beavers swimming and grooming in the water and on the river bank, while a king fisher swooped backwards and forwards above. Daniele was very knowledgeable about both beavers and the wider natural environment and really got the kids interested – and she was lovely to boot! Many thanks for an unforgettable evening.’
